Madame Butterfly by Giacomo Puccini is one of the most acclaimed and frequently performed operas internationally. Few operas in the standard repertoire excite and surprise audiences like this masterpiece from the early 20th century (1904). Based on the theatrical drama by David Belasco, its wonderful orchestration and melodic inspiration, both veristic and exotic, extremely passionate, have made it one of the most tragic and at the same time most poignant and emotional stories of all time. Two-hour staged version with a 15-minute intermission. Symphony orchestra integrated into the show, solo vocalists, choir, ballet, period costumes, unique lighting and technical set, taking advantage of the special characteristics of the concert hall at Teatro EDP Gran Vía in Madrid.
